What happens at the clothing optional resort stays at the clothing optional resort. Or does it?

What happens at the clothing optional resort stays at the clothing optional resort. Or so Brant thought. A past betrayal colored Brant's view on dating, leaving him content with flings and flybys. Until he met a man on the beach who gave him the motivation to challenge those ideas.

Dylan, fed up with his contracting job, heads to his best friend's resort for some much needed R and R. Little did he know that he'd just booked a cabin on a nude beach. If that wasn't mind-boggling enough, he also runs into a man who makes him want to believe in fairy tales and love at first sight.

The two of them hit it off and burn up the sheets. The magic between them is strong, but will it be enough to bind them together once their vacation ends and they're forced to return to their regularly scheduled lives?

"There you are. Tess and I were beginning to wonder if you bailed on us."

Dylan smiled at Ross. "Nah. Just running a little late is all. Nothing big." Dylan noted the happiness in Ross's blue eyes and the sincere grin. They'd been best friends since grade school, but he never remembered seeing Ross so at ease and content. Obviously running a resort on a private beach did all kinds of good for Ross's attitude and stress levels.

He could only hope it did the same for his own. The past few weeks had been rough. Horribly so. Downtime became a necessity in order to cling to his sanity with his tension-packed job turning into an endless nightmare. Not to mention, his one year relationship died a slow death due to lack of attention and two men who once loved one another moving in opposite directions. Regrets still plagued him now and again, but he couldn't breathe life into the past and bring it back. Time to leap forward instead. Thus, the decision to take Ross up on his offer of a big vacation away from it all.

"I think you'll find this is exactly what you've been needing." Ross waggled his eyebrows as he handed over a key. "Your bungalow is at the far end of the blue trail. Guaranteed peace and quiet along with a glorious view of the ocean."

"Dylan!" Tess hollered and hurried over, giving Dylan a huge hug. "It's so good to see you again."

Dylan returned the affection, stepped back, and appraised the lady that stole Ross's heart way back in high school. Her pretty chestnut hair had been cut into a bob, cute on her, and added to the energetic and youthful look she always carried. Even dressed in khaki pants and a sapphire colored oxford, she radiated joy. "You're looking better than ever. I might just have to steal you away from Ross." He winked at her.

She giggled and lightly smacked his arm. "He might be ready to give me away."

"Not quite," Ross replied. "Besides, she has the wrong plumbing for you."

Tess grabbed his suitcase. "Come on, I'll show you to your room."

He snagged the heavy item from her. No way would he let her trudge all over creation carrying his bags. His mother raised him better. "Lead the way."

They had no sooner stepped out the door than a middle-aged couple passed by them, drinks in hand, presumably on their way to the main beach. That wouldn't have been so surprising except they were missing their swim suits. In fact, they were missing all their clothing. Not a stitch covered their bare bodies.

Dylan blinked, shook his head, then turned back just in time to get a grand view of both their rears. "Umm. Tess?"

"Yes?" She slowed her pace in order to allow him to catch up.

"Did you see that?" He pulled abreast and shortened his strides so she didn't have to nearly trot to stay with him.

"What? Oh, you mean the Nelsons?"

He glanced over his shoulder again. "Do they always wander around naked?"

A slow grin appeared on her face. "Don't tell me Ross left out some important details about our resort."

More confused than ever, Dylan drew to a stop. "What details?"

Tess looked around before focusing back on him and whispering, "We're a clothing optional resort."

"A what?" Dylan's mouth fell open.

"A clothing optional resort." She stared at him and tried once more. "A nude beach?"

Stunned, Dylan could only stand there and replay her words through his head. "You and Ross run a place where people run around in the buff. In public. All day and all night?"

"Well, yes." She beamed.

He groaned to himself. Before he could conjure a tactful response, another woman jogged by, wearing only a pair of sneakers. He watched her go before turning back to Tess. "I don't know what to say."

Tess wrapped her hand around his arm and tugged. "Trust me, I was shocked, too. Ross inherited the place from his great aunt and uncle. We knew they had a home and business on the beach, but had no idea it catered to nudists. We took possession and jumped in feet first, learning a bit later that the resort specialized in that specific niche."

Dylan started walking again, absorbing what this meant. For two weeks, he had a perfect vacation hanging out on the beach, doing nothing but enjoying himself. While naked people walked all around. Either he'd get some great eye candy or need some mind bleach by the end of his stay.

About Cheyenne Meadows:
Fireborn Publishing Main Page

Growing up in the Midwest, I began reading romance novels in high school, immediately falling in love with the genre, to the point where I decided to write professionally for a career. However, that dream splattered against a brick wall, resulting in a quick death in my first writing class in college when my professor told me bluntly that I wasn't any good at it. I shifted gears quickly, and left my writing dreams behind, eventually settling on becoming a nurse.

A few years back, I stumbled across a fan-fiction writing site on a favorite author's webpage. I began to read stories others wrote, not only making some wonderful close friends from the experience, but also, really learning to write for the very first time. Here I was able to share short stories, practice my writing skills, and truly develop into a writer. More than that, the experience allowed me to revitalize my dream, as I rediscovered joy in writing. Now, I spend my days off with my alpha male characters, quick witted heroines, and see how much trouble everyone can get into.

When I'm not working or writing, I enjoy working in the garden, canning, and seeing my backyard as a living canvas for my whimsical landscaping, and, of course, reading romance novels.
