Photojournalist David Fox pours out his heart in his blog when his relationship with his longtime lover Phil ends. He decides to become celibate.

Novelist Ben Bucktell packs his bags and heads to Alaska after reading a blog post written by his childhood friend, David Fox. Since elementary school Ben has always been there for David. But he knows now that David has been shielding his depression in order for Ben not to worry. Ben feels that David shouldn't be alone at this holiest of times and fears David may do something stupid that might end his life. Ben has to get through to David and convince him life is worth living. He can't be too late to save him.

"Put me down, you big ox," David Fox shouted as his best friend from childhood carried David over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

He'd been in the shower when some idiot started banging on his front door. David made the fatal mistake of answering, wearing a towel around his waist and Ben scooped him up the moment he set eyes on David. He hadn't seen Ben Bucktell in the ten years since David left for Denver.

Ben Bucktell ignored him and instinctively found his way to David's bedroom. He entered and tossed David on the bed.

"Ouch!" David's towel, unfortunately, didn't survive the journey. He lay spread wide under the scrutiny of his six-foot-three gay friend. "What are you doing here in Alaska?"

"I came just as soon as I read your post," Ben answered. He removed his coat and tossed it on a chair.

"What post?" David asked, trying to close his legs and get back some decorum.

"The one about you breaking up with Phil and threatening to do something stupid like becoming a celibate monk."

David recalled writing something like that on his personal webpage the other night. He'd been drunk at the time, and angry. "You've traveled all the way here for that?" He covered his dick with his hand so Ben would stop staring at it.

Ben leaned over and lifted David's hand. "Great reaction. Of course I did. That's what friends do." He straightened up and started removing his clothing.

"What are you doing?" David asked.

"I'm about to comfort you?"

David scowled. Even though he was curious about what having sex with Ben would be like, the thought of taking on a two-hundred thirty pound ex-football player didn't seem like a sensible thing to do.

Ben dropped his pants.

David propped himself up on his elbows. Commando! Maybe I might have to rethink this.

"I've come to put a little joy in this holiday season."
